The LennyUpgrade PRO is LennyLamb’s most adjustable full buckle carrier. It is made from woven wrap fabric, fits from newborn to toddler with no insert, and offers lumbar support, a removable hood, and more adjustment points than any other carrier in the lineup. Who the LennyUpgrade PRO Is For

The LennyUpgrade PRO is a good fit if you want:

  • Maximum adjustability. The panel adjusts wider and lower than any other LennyLamb carrier, including a structured upper section designed specifically for newborn head and neck support.
  • One carrier from newborn to toddler. It fits from 3.2 kg with no insert and grows all the way to about 36 months, so you won’t need a second carrier for the first three years.
  • Built-in lumbar support. The waist belt includes lumbar padding that takes pressure off your lower back during longer carries.
  • A removable hood. The included hood attaches magnetically and provides sleep support, sun shade, and privacy during nursing. It can be removed completely when you don’t need it.
  • Woven wrap fabric in a buckle carrier. Like all LennyLamb carriers, it is sewn from the same jacquard, herringbone, and broken-twill fabrics as their woven wraps, in dozens of designs and blends.

If you want something lighter and simpler with fewer adjustment points, the LennyLight may be a better fit.

Key Features

Wider panel adjustment range

The LennyUpgrade PRO has a panel height range of 26–41 cm (about 10.2–16.1 in), which is wider than the standard LennyUpgrade. The lower minimum means the panel can narrow enough for a proper newborn fit from day one, while the upper end supports bigger toddlers comfortably.

Structured newborn section

The upper panel includes a padded 21 × 21 cm (8.3 × 8.3 in) section that provides head and neck support for newborns. This built-in structure means you don’t need a separate insert or rolled-up fabric to get a safe, snug fit for a small baby.

Removable hood

The coordinating hood attaches to the carrier with magnets and supports your baby’s head during naps, shades them from the sun, and gives you privacy while nursing. When you don’t need it, it unclips and tucks away.

Lumbar support

The waist belt includes built-in lumbar support that distributes your baby’s weight across your hips and lower back. This makes a noticeable difference on longer carries and as your baby gets heavier.

Removable chest belt

The chest belt is a separate piece that clips onto the shoulder straps and can be taken off entirely when you wear the straps crossed. This gives you flexibility depending on your preferred carrying style.

Waist belt pocket

A pocket with a magnetic closure sits on the waist belt. It fits a phone, keys, and other small essentials.

Circoola® NFC tag

Each LennyUpgrade PRO has a built-in NFC tag. Hold an NFC-enabled phone near it to pull up tutorials plus your carrier’s color, size, model, fabric blend and weight, production date, and serial number.

Sizing and Fit

The LennyUpgrade PRO comes in a single size that adjusts to fit both parent and baby:

  • For the wearer: the waist belt fits 66–155 cm (about 26–61 in) and the shoulder straps adjust from 38–120 cm (about 15–47 in), so it works for a wide range of body types and can be shared between caregivers.
  • For your baby: it fits from 3.2 kg (about 7 lbs) and EU clothing size 56 up to size 104, or about 36 months.

Whatever your baby’s age, check for the M-position: knees higher than bottom, fabric supporting them from knee to knee, and a gently rounded back. For newborns, narrow and shorten the panel so it reaches the backs of the knees and supports the neck.

How to Use the LennyUpgrade PRO

Before every carry, run through the T.I.C.K.S. checklist: Tight, In view at all times, Close enough to kiss, Keep chin off the chest, and Supported back.

Caring for Your LennyUpgrade PRO

  • Machine wash at 30–40 °C (86–104 °F) on a gentle cycle with all buckles fastened.
  • Remove the hood before washing.
  • Skip the fabric softener.
  • Hang to dry when you can, to protect the fabric and hardware.
  • Always check the care label first. Blends with wool, silk, or cashmere need a cooler wash and should never go in the dryer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the LennyUpgrade PRO from birth?

Yes. The LennyUpgrade PRO fits from 3.2 kg (about 7 lbs) with no newborn insert. Its structured upper panel provides head and neck support for small babies, and the panel narrows lower than other carriers in the range for a snug newborn fit.

How long will my child fit in the LennyUpgrade PRO?

It fits up to about 36 months, or EU clothing size 104. After that, the LennyPreschool offers a taller, wider panel for kids up to 5 years.

When can I back carry?

LennyLamb recommends back carries from about 4 months. Front carries are fine from birth.

What’s the difference between the LennyUpgrade PRO and the LennyLight?

Both fit from 0–36 months. The LennyUpgrade PRO has more adjustment points, lumbar support, a removable hood, and a wider waist belt and shoulder strap range. The LennyLight is lighter, simpler, and more packable — great for travel and quick outings.

What’s the difference between the LennyUpgrade and the LennyUpgrade PRO?

The PRO has a wider panel height range (10.2–16.1 in vs. 13.4–15.7 in) for a better newborn fit, plus a structured upper section for infant head and neck support, and a removable chest belt. The standard LennyUpgrade starts at about 1 month / 3.5 kg.

Does the hood come with it?

Yes. Every LennyUpgrade PRO includes a coordinating removable hood that attaches magnetically.

Will the LennyUpgrade PRO fit plus-size or petite parents?

The waist belt adjusts from 66–155 cm (about 26–61 in) and the shoulder straps from 38–120 cm (about 15–47 in), which covers a very wide range of body types. Reach out with your measurements if you’re not sure.

Can I use it facing outward?

No. The LennyUpgrade PRO supports front (tummy to tummy) and back carries only. LennyLamb does not recommend outward-facing carries because they don’t allow the M-position that supports healthy hip development.

Is the LennyUpgrade PRO safety certified?

Yes. It is certified to ASTM F2236-24 and PD CEN/TR 16512:2015 and is recognized as “hip healthy” by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.

How do I wash my LennyUpgrade PRO?

Remove the hood, fasten all buckles, and machine wash at 30–40 °C on a gentle cycle. Skip the fabric softener and hang to dry. Check the care label first — wool, silk, and cashmere blends need a cooler wash.
